I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in 1985 and have trusted him every day to lead me in the ways and things of God. I know God loves me and I love him. I attended Michigan State University and received a Bachelor Degree in 1978. I worked for IBM for 32 years and retired in 2009. I married my wife Pat on August 23rd, 1980 and we have 4 adult children and 14 grand kids. My wife and I have been members at Resurrection Fellowship Church since June 1996. I am currently serving as a Deacon and Adult Sunday School Teacher at the church. I work for the West Michigan school district as a substitute teacher and have a great time learning with our young people. I have a love for God's people and strive to promote unity in the church. My hobbies are photography, fishing, computers, and learning new things in life.

Deacons Purpose in the Church:

To know God first and foremost . . .
-Deacons are to have charge of the sick and needy members, and are also to act as
counselors and assistants to the pastor in advancing the general interests of the body.
-In the absence of a pastor it becomes the duty of the deacons to conduct the
devotional meetings, provide for the supply of the pulpit and administer the affairs of the
      body.
-Through spiritual disciplines and continued growth be accountable. 2 Pet. 1:3-11
-By leading as examples as we strengthen ourselves and others. Heb. 12:12-13
in humility and obedience to the Lord. James 4:7-10

Responsibilities of Deacons include:

Serve God by serving alongside our Pastor & First Lady to shepherd our congregation by :
-being prepared in season/out of season, equipped for every good work. 2 Tim.
      3:16-4:2.
-being available, willing and desirous to serve. Taking initiative. Psalm 37:3-4; Matt.
      13:44.
-being familiar with our church family and ministries/functions. Heb. 10:25.
-building relationships . . . to mentor and disciple future leaders.
-being accountable to our Pastor, staff and each other.
     -communication (positive)

Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. 1 Tim 3:8-10
